After passing the RP-1, the SPINMATE activities are mostly related to the effort on validating lab-scale trials as well as the upscaling protocols towards RP-2. Standardisation or expected activities toward standardisation plays a pivotal role in the SPINMATE project. With the relatively fresh R&D&I idea, the polymer-based solid-state battery that is developing in the SPINMATE project is a potential system to apply beyond the project. It is essential to ensure the development of solid-state battery cells that meet (or are close to) the requirements of EV applications while aligning with EU and international regulations.
Collaborative efforts, together with the SOLID4B Cluster partners and active engagement with standardisation committees, have enabled SPINMATE to contribute to future standards development while aligning its technologies with evolving regulations. This month (M30), the SPINMATE project, led by INOVA+, in collaboration with AVESTA, is in the process of arranging its report regarding the standardisation assessment that would be crystalised in the deliverable (D9.6). The project’s standardisation assessment activities are guided by a two-stage evaluation methodology that assesses current standards, identifies gaps, and proposes advancements to align with market needs and sustainability goals. Tools like the Radar Chart and Standardisation Assessment Survey ensure effective tracking of standardisation maturity and application, providing insights for compliance and industry-wide adoption.
Besides arranging the deliverable document as an additional plan, in next month’s first quarterly meeting with the SOLID4B Cluster in 2025, the SPINMATE project is encouraging all Cluster partners to discuss this topic. As an initial approval, the SOLiD project will initiate the discussion regarding their interaction experience with Horizon Standardisation Booster (HSBooster.eu).
